Learn how to write and refine a compelling story with an eye to structure, intent and style through this free workshop by Reading's own Writer's Collaborative.

Are you a writer or aspiring writer hoping to develop more compelling work?

Join professional writers from the Writers' Collaborative Learning Center in a free hands-on workshop to learn:

• Responding to creative prompts and develop a story from start to finish.
• Creating a story that is both structurally sound and emotionally captivating, whether based on personal experience or fictional elements.
• Skills for making conscious decisions about content, tone, and delivery style.
• Techniques for polishing your story to ensure it resonates with an audience.

Teens and adults, new and experienced writers are welcome.

Then, take your writing from page to stage by sharing your work at Reading Voices: Share Your Story LIVE storytelling event on August 23rd.

About the facilitators: 

Nancy Parsons - After a long career in advertising, Nancy turned to writing her own material, including several published memoirs. She has also published two essay collections and eight novels; memoir, however, is her special interest. Nancy is an enthusiastic advocate for memoir.

Evea Raye -Evea received her Bachelor’s in creative and professional writing from Central Washington University, her Master’s in English with a Writing Specialization from Salem State University, and her Master’s of Fine Arts in Fiction from the University of New Hampshire, where she taught English Composition and fiction courses. Evea specializes in speculative fiction with an emphasis on the uncanny, including fantasy, world building, magical realism, and realistic fiction.
