I. You and Cartoons
Welcome aboard to the first of three workshops designed to nurture your inner cartoonist. We will explore the past, present, and future of cartooning-- as a form of art and as a means of expressing ideas. All of these classes will be highly interactive and participatory. In order to enrich our time together, each session will have a homework assignment that will need to be completed ahead of time.
In our first meeting we will get to know more about one another, identify some of our favorite artists and characters, and activate our funny bones with some warmup exercises.
This workshop series is made possible through the generous support of The Friends of the Reading Public Library .
Please note: A basic level of comfort and competence with drawing techniques is required for participation; these classes are NOT drawing classes. In the interests of maintaining harmonious good-will in the classroom, we will not engage with divisive work concerning religious topics or current political subjects.
Click here for the first homework assignment, due Friday, June 13.
